Installing the client on Arch Linux
I am not asking for help, I am just sharing how you can install the polytoria client on any arch based distro, including but not limited to arch itself.
Prerequisites:
- An arch linux install with some sort of desktop enviorment. I recommend gnome or kde
- Git installed
- The polytoria .deb file
> 1. Installing Debtap
Clone debtap from the AUR (arch user repository) then cd into it
git clone ************************************
cd debtap
Build debtap
makepkg -si
Alternatively you can use yum if you have it installed
Note that you MUST do
sudo debtap -U
after installation.
> Installing Polytoria
Go into your downloads directory, usually that is ~/Download, in that case you can do
cd ~/Downloads
Now to build the package you must do
debtap Polytoria.deb
When it prompts you with the Packager name or license you can leave it blank by pressing the enter key.
When it prompts you with the edit prompt leave it blank.
Now you must play the waiting game...
After it finished building, you must execute
sudo pacman -U [result file, starts with Polytoria].zst
