User-Made Achievements [In-Depth]
In my first post ( polytoria.com/forum/post/183347), I mentioned user-made achievements for games. I thought I'd elaborate for those curious about the concept. Maybe you disagree and think another approach would be better. I'd like to hear it!
Game developers would buy an achievement - let's call it an award - model that can be inserted in game with the script pre-made for X amount of bricks or studs (to avoid spammed awards). The developer can draw an icon for the award thumbnail, add a description if wanted, then purchase. The award is then added to the game page attached to the award. The developer is then automatically given a special pre-scripted model to insert in their game. After it's inserted, anyone that wants to obtain this award has to locate it in game. Whether it's for completing an obstacle course, or simply a piece in a scavenger hunt.
Other ideas:
-Games can be filtered based on whether or not they contain awards. This allows award hunters to find them easier.
-If awards have comments, allow the creator to disable them for scavenger hunt games.
-Awards on profiles can be sorted based on rarity (based solely on number owned).
-Awards can be arranged manually on a user's profile to show them off.
-Awards earned by players can be displayed on their profiles.
-Awards can have a list of owners.
Any additional suggestions that piggyback or add to this thread are greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time.
