1; I gave it some thought, and I actually agree that post count should be private instead of a limit.
2; Studs being free doesn't make them useless at all. Users can buy stud-only items for their character. That's already an advantage to many other MMO / online games.
4; Yes, that's what I meant. Apologies for the vagueness.
6; There are many options when it comes to contests for said giveaways. Lottery/raffle, Forum games, actual games, building/art contest.
