Cant log out?

When banned for any amount of time, the page gives you a log out button, but it doesnt log you out when you click it. It really doesnt do anything. If this is a measure to prevent ban evading, then why do you specifically give us a log out button?

this is how you can log out:
click on the lock icon on the url section, click allowed cookies, then remove your polysession cookies.
